Queenstown

Our southern base and the recommended start for longer expeditions. From here we target the Twizel and Tekapo fisheries and Central Otago's world-class winter waters.

Tap a marker to see the region, the water we target there, and to enquire about a trip built around it. Your starting point depends on the length of your trip and the water we're chasing.

Unlocking the South Island

From Christchurch to Queenstown, and Everywhere Between

Whether you're joining a guided expedition or need a tactical drop-off for an independent mission, we're your gateway to New Zealand's remote interior. We operate from Christchurch to Queenstown, as well as throughout South Westland.

From the moment you land, everything is organised to make your transition into the wilderness simple. We don't add commission on any of this, it's just part of our all-inclusive Kiwi service.

Planning Your Journey

Three Ways to Reach the Meeting Point

Whichever you choose, your guide drives you to the river each day from there. Specialised off-roading is often required to reach our launch points, and our team is equipped for it.

01

Rental Car

Prefer to drive yourself? We arrange a rental car on your behalf. Pick up a vehicle at the airport and make your way to the agreed meeting point or accommodation at your own pace. Clear directions and meeting details are provided in advance.

02

Self-Arranged

Happy to sort your own transport? Many guests hire a vehicle or drive themselves to the agreed meeting point or accommodation before the trip. Detailed meeting instructions and timing are sent ahead of time so you arrive prepared.

03

Airport Transfers

While we don't run airport pickups directly, we're happy to organise a taxi transfer. It takes you from the airport to the meeting point or your accommodation, where we group up before heading into the backcountry together.

Seamless Arrival

We'll Organise It For You

Transfers, meeting points, accommodation and logistics are all handled, so all you need to do is arrive, meet up, and get ready to head into the backcountry.

Our Primary Fisheries

Itinerary A, 3-Day Expeditions

From Queenstown to focus on the Twizel and Tekapo fisheries, or from Christchurch to access the Canterbury high country, including Methven, Fairlie and Hanmer Springs.

Itinerary B, 5-Day-Plus Expeditions

We recommend starting in Queenstown and finishing in Christchurch. This traverse lets us fish a far greater variety of water, the highest quality and range on offer.

Need reliable drop-offs and pick-ups beyond the end of the road? See our Backcountry Taxi jet boat service.
